On average, teachers in St. Johns County spend $600 of their own money on school supplies for their students and classroom. The goal of Tools 4 Schools is to lower and eventually eliminate this cost to our teachers.
Tools 4 Schools is a county wide school supply drive held annually in August. The program directly benefits the teachers and students in St. Johns County schools. Individuals, organizations and businesses within St. Johns County are encouraged to become a part of this event by becoming drop-off points, donating supplies and volunteering time to help sort and distribute to teachers.
The Tools 4 Schools supply drive will be held August 1st- 15th. During these two weeks, people can take donations to various drop-off points around St. Johns County and neighboring areas.
The SJCEF opened the doors of The Bailey Group Resource Depot in April 2012. This is a permanent location, donated by The Bailey Group, which can house the supplies we collect during the Tools 4 Schools drive and throughout the year. Teachers will be able to digitally submit a supply request at any point during the school year.
The Bailey Group Resource Depot is not only a great place to store school supplies, but it also serves as a Service Learning Project and a source of community service hours for students. These students will keep an inventory of supplies and take teacher's orders.
