St. Johns County Education Foundation Quotation

Take Stock in Children is a comprehensive program that helps low-income children stay in school, earn a high school diploma, graduate from college and enter the workforce.  Enrolling students as early as in the sixth grade Take Stock in Children offers each child:
·       A college tuition scholarship
·       A volunteer mentor to provide motivation, support and friendship
·       A case manager to support the student’s educational achievements
·       College and career counseling

The children in the program sign performance contracts agreeing to get good grades, exhibit positive behavior, and remain drug and crime free.

Currently, 45 middle and high school students are enrolled in Take Stock in Children and 40 others have graduated high school and attending college utilizing their Take Stock in Children scholarships.

Give the gift of education.  You have the opportunity to provide a child with an education and hope for a future of success.  Now is your chance to take stock in a child by making a donation to support scholarships for children living in St. Johns County.  100% of all donations are used for scholarship purchases and  will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Florida Prepaid College Foundation, thereby doubling your investment in the future of a child.

Become a Mentor.  You can change a child’s life by becoming a mentor.  One hour a week of your time can make a lasting impact in the life of a child.  By showing a child that someone cares, you will help that student become a productive citizen.
