St. Johns County Education Foundation Quotation

RE:     Supplemental Educational Service Provider (SES Provider)

The St. Johns County Education Foundation (SJCEF) is pleased to announce the approval from the Florida Department of Education to provide Supplemental Educational Services (SES) pursuant to the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act for the 2008-2009 school year.  The SJCEF will contract with the St. Johns County School District to provide this service.

As an SES Provider, the SJCEF will offer free tutoring to qualified students in Title I Schools.  This tutoring will be offered either before or after school.  Parents of eligible students will be able to sign up their child for tutoring assistance in either reading or math.

The expectation is that SES tutoring will improve student achievement.  Student progress will be monitored with pre-and post-assessment tests and parents and school personnel will be kept informed as to each child’s progress.

SJCEF will hire a Coordinator to administer the SES program.  This Coordinator will work with schools and parents to hire tutors and develop an individual student plan that addresses the individual needs of each student.
